Lana del Rey Hairstyle - Lana del Rey Models Glam Beauty

I have a mixed bag of emotions regarding Lana del Rey, but I’m pretty consistent with my love of her hair and makeup. Voluminous sixties-inspired bouffants paired with heavy-lidded cat eyes is just the type of thing I’m into, and Lana usually nails the look. Usually. Whatever’s going on here is so, so questionable: large and in charge with, like, a cluster of fake butterflies pinned to it? Could someone please explain this to me? I’m afraid I don’t understand.

Nailing It – Captured by Sean & Seng, Lana del Rey wows in glam beauty looks for a Cartier jewelry special featured in the July issue of Vogue Japan. Stylist Johnny Blueeyes selects ultra-feminine dresses and tops to go with Lana’s glittering jewelry. The songstress’ looks are perfected by smokey eyes and siren waves by makeup artist Pamela Cochrane and hair stylist Anna Cofone.

Kimbra Hairstyles - Kimbra Is The Most Exciting Singer I’ve Heard in Ages

Kimbra's first album may have been out for a year, but most of the people I talk to have only heard her singing with Gotye on his great (though overplayed) tune "Somebody That I Used To Know."

I was one of those people, until I listened to some of her debut album and realized that holy crap, Kimbra is amazing!

The video above is a live performance of "Plain Gold Ring," which is included on her album Vows. Which shows just what a strange, incredible performer she is… man, the voice on this woman. I haven't dug on an album like this since I first heard Janelle Monae's Archandroid.

Vows is one of those albums like Jellyfish's Spilt Milk, in that seems like a true labor of love. Every tune has been produced within an inch of its life, but not in a bad way—as I recently described it to a friend, "There's so much music in her music!"

How to Get More Shine

Girls (and guys), lets face it. This world is obsessed with looks. We only see the pretty people in advertisements for jeans, or on billboards for hair care products. It is hard to feel pretty when the magazines are adorned with supermodels all around you. No, we are not Megan Fox, or Angelina Jolie, or David Beckham. But there are plenty of natural ways to feel better about your appearance, and regain that confidence.

You can start by finding natural ways to get that perfect soft, shiny hair. Salons will sell you expensive bottles of shampoo and conditioner that help for a short while but do not really accomplish much in the long run. There are other ways to achieve results though. Cheaper, more effective ways. Some people will recommend not washing your hair in hot water. The heat damages hair. You do not need to use cold water, just turn the temperature down. Ever wonder why children's hair is so soft and shiny? I can guarantee their showers and baths are not as hot as ours are. The heat kills the natural oils your hair produces.

When you use conditioners, remember to leave them on your hair long enough for them to work. It is not a magic potion. You can not pour it on, rinse it off immediately, and expect results. Rinsing the conditioner off right after you rub it in does not give your hair enough time to absorb the conditioner. Usually, the most effective results occur when you let the conditioner soak in for about five minutes.

Also, when you go to rinse the conditioner out of your hair, try using cold water at the end. The reason for this is that you will get much more shine on your hair. When drying your hair, do not overkill it with careless rubbing and scrubbing. The roughness of the towel will damage your hair. Just gently blot your hair with the towel or let hair dry naturally. The hot air from a hairdryer can also have similar effects. As can overuse of straightening or curling your hair. One way to deal with this can be to use heat-activated conditioners. This way the heat from the appliances will actually help the hair.

Some people also recommend using vinegar on your hair. The idea is quite revolting, and one can think that the smell will probably be even more so, but it is not so, try it, the results speak for themselves. The recommended usage is one tablespoon to a gallon of water. Diet can also help. Eat lots of vitamin E. This includes brown rice, nuts, wheat, and leafy vegetables.

All these tips will help you get smoother, shinier, and softer hair, and boost your confidence.
